Anchorgae
This is a term that refers to how images are referred to. in magazines, images will be anchored by captions (directly explaining what the picture depict), by coverlines, or ny articles and headlines. Anchoring an image helps give it meaning, as it helps the reader understand the significance.

Secondary images
They may be used on the front cover to help promote other features in the magazine, usally anchored by a coverline.
They are often used in magazines where readers need to be encited by the picture.

Coverlines
These are located at various points on the front cover, telling readers about the magazines contents.

mode of address
magazine links with the maker

Puff
attracts the reader to a certain point of intrest in the mag

Pugs
the ears of the mag

barcode, price, addition
for refference, to know how to buy, to be placed

use of colour
for extra effect, alter from addition to addition.

font
tells alot about the magazine
